Entrance requirements
Altus Assessments
All applicants must complete the Altus Casper test and SnapShot video interview.
Visit TakeAltus to reserve a test date. Last minute bookings are not recommended. Register at least three days prior to your preferred test date. Please go to the Altus website for all information or questions regarding the test and video interview.
Casper and Snapshot result are only valid for a single testing cycle - September to August.
BCIT does not guarantee admission to applicants who meet the minimum requirements. Obtaining a seat in the Nursing program is competitive. The Nursing program mandate is to select those applicants deemed to have the best opportunity for success. The Nursing program does not maintain a waitlist.

All Academic Foundations courses must be completed prior to application. Midterm grades are not accepted. Only official transcripts are to be submitted with your online application. An official BCIT transcript is not required.
Applicants who have completed post-secondary studies outside of Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia or New Zealand will require a comprehensive evaluation of their credentials by the International Credential Evaluation Service (ICES). Credential evaluation reports from other Canadian services may be considered. These reports must include course-by-course evaluations and GPA calculations.
Applicants also have to satisfy BCIT's institution admission requirements as listed below.

At BCIT, entrance requirements are program-specific. All programs require English 12, but the percentage required varies by program. Be sure to confirm your program’s specific English requirement before applying.

If you have not graduated from secondary school you may still be admitted to BCIT based on your relevant experience. To gain Mature student status, you must also meet BCIT's English-language requirements as well as any prerequisites for your desired program. Please contact BCIT Admissions to discuss your situation further.
