1) Program Admission Requirements
Academic (minimum grade)
1. Completion of the following 30 credits at the undergraduate-level (C+ or 65% per course):
- BIOL 1103, BIOL 1203, BIOL 2200, BIOL 2401
- ENGL 1130 and one university-transferable ENGL elective course
- PSYC 1100 and PSYC 1200
- MATH 1160 or PSYC 2300 or BUSN 2429
- One 3-credit university-transferable elective course
Non-Academic
1. Upon acceptance into the 2nd year of the BPSN program, the following will be required:- Interview (may be required) for the purposes of providing information and academic counselling
- Satisfactory medical assessment - indicating satisfactory mental and physical health (all costs associated with the medical assessment are the responsibility of the applicant)
- Current record of recommended immunizations
- Criminal Record Check (within one year prior to the start of the program)
Admission Advice
1. Enrollment to this Program is limited. Completion of the admission requirements does not guarantee admission to the BSN program.
2. If you are taking the admission prerequisite courses at another post-secondary institution in BC, you can use BC Transfer Guide to find out about course transferability and equivalency.
3. Students who are approved for priority admission under the Academic Foundations (for potential Psychiatric Nursing applicants) category are not guaranteed admission to the Bachelor of Science in Psychiatric Nursing program (BSPN). However, priority preference will be given to students who have completed the Academic Foundation for Potential Psychiatric Nursing certificate program.
4. Students are accepted to the BSPN program on a first qualified, first admitted basis. In the event where students qualify for admission at the same time, but there are fewer program seats available than demand dictates, offers will be given to those students with a higher GPA on the required courses for admission to BSPN.

You are eligible for enrollment at Douglas College if you meet the General Admission Requirements along with the specific admission requirements of your intended program. - One course short of BC secondary school graduation
- 19 years old by the end of the first month of the first semester of attendance
- 17 years old on the first day of the first semester of attendance and has not been in school for at least one year
- Completion of a certificate or equivalent from a special needs program and has been in school for 12 years
