Admission Advice:

1. All applicants to UVic (regardless of country of origin or citizenship status) are required to demonstrate competence in the English language prior to admission. You can choose one of several ways to demonstrate language proficiency.

You are not required to provide proof of language proficiency if you have studied full time for at least four years within Canada at the high school and/or post-secondary level, and all of your instruction has been in English.

2. For more details, including admission requirements for all applicant categories, see the UVic admissions site.

3. At UVIC, the value of courses is given in units. Most courses at UVic that run for one term count for 1.5 units per course. For example, 3 UVIC units are equivalent to two (half-year) courses or 6 credits at most BC colleges and universities.

4. Admission is competitive as enrollment is limited. Selection is based on grades and a personal written submission.

Applicants also have to satisfy UVic's institution admission requirements as listed below.
