Advanced Entry Nursing Degrees

Managers in health care plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate the delivery of health care services, such as diagnosis and treatment, nursing and therapy, within institutions, and in other settings, that provide health care services. They are employed in hospitals, medical clinics, nursing homes and other health care organizations.

Nursing coordinators and supervisors coordinate and supervise the activities of registered nurses, registered psychiatric nurses, licensed practical nurses and other nursing personnel in the provision of patient care. They are employed in health care institutions such as hospitals, clinics and nursing homes, and in nursing agencies.

To receive the Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) designation, you must be registered with the Human Resources Professionals Association (HRPA) in good standing. Eligibility is achieved through completion of the required coursework, relevant exams, and the Job Ready Program offered by the HRPA.

This program is intended for students who already have a baccalaureate degree (four-year undergraduate degree) and allows students to transition to the field of nursing. The program is recognized by The British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM). The purpose of the program is to educate nurses to practice with a variety of clients in various settings, guided by a health promotion perspective and a capacity for effective relational engagement. Students will learn to work as partners with clients and with other health care providers. Students learn to be independent, accountable, reflective, self-directed, self-motivated and life-long learners with questioning minds and familiarity with inquiry approaches to learning.
