This instructional program class comprises any program that prepares individuals to use computer applications and related visual and sound imaging techniques to manipulate images and information originating as film, video, still photographs, digital copy, soundtracks, and physical objects in order to communicate messages simulating real-world content. These programs include courses in specialized camerawork and equipment operation and maintenance, image capture, computer programming, dubbing, CAD applications, and applications to specific commercial, industrial, and entertainment needs.

Animation Micro-credentials

Graphic arts technicians assist in conceptualizing a project, interpreting design specifications or sketches, preparing the page make-up, lay-out and lettering, and preparing production materials for press, electronic or multimedia publishing. They are employed by publishing, communications, advertising, marketing, printing and multimedia establishments, and by television and film production companies. They may also be self-employed.

Assistants and operators in motion pictures, broadcasting, photography and the performing arts perform duties related to these fields. They are employed by television and radio stations and networks, recording studios, motion picture and video production companies and by theatre and stage companies.

With the Introductory 3D Modeling for Animation (Maya) Building on essential functionality and tools from Introductory Maya, this course introduces the Modeling specific modules of Autodesk Maya 3D. Learn to navigate the interface and create polygon and nurbs objects to populate a complete scene. 

Introductory 3D Modeling for Animation (Maya) Micro-credential

In this introductory course, you will learn the fundamentals of Blender's set of tools. From 3D modeling, animation, nodes and optimizations, you will gradually learn to navigate and use the software. By the end of this course, you will be able to create your own basic 3D mdoels and animations using the Blender toolset with the industry-standard creation pipeline in mind. 


Introductory Blender Micro-credential

Through the Principles of Animation, you will learn the fundamentals of classical animation including principles, timing and techniques in this introductory course. Through demonstrations, animation analysis and hands-on activities, you will learn the 12 Principles of Animation and apply them in a variety of assignments and class activities. Starting with this foundation will improve the quality and believability of animations, help you communicate ideas to other animators, and to support giving and receiving feedback. The skills learned in this course will provide a strong foundation for more complex animation skills such as walk cycles and acting. By the end of this course you will have a strong understanding of motion, its translation into a 2D medium, and be able to create believable animations using industry standard digital tools. This course requires basic knowledge of computers and access to a drawing tablet.
