Humanities/humanistic studies

To receive the Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) designation, you must be registered with the Human Resources Professionals Association (HRPA) in good standing. Eligibility is achieved through completion of the required coursework, relevant exams, and the Job Ready Program offered by the HRPA.

This General Associate of Arts Degree is a flexible, two-year grounding in the arts. You can earn a General Arts degree or choose to specialize in English, economics, social work or psychology. If your goal is to complete a four-year degree in arts, science, education business or commerce, you may be able to complete half of it through this program. As a graduate, you can choose to continue your studies with a bachelor's degree. You'll also be ready for any career that requires good communications skills and wide general knowledge. 





Associate of Arts Degree (General)

The Associate of Arts Degree provides a foundation in a range of academic disciplines, critical thinking, writing and research skills. In addition to required coursework in English, Science and Arts, you'll be able to select from first- and second-year courses across every faculty at CapU. Your choices can include everything from mathematics and computing science, to business, creative and performing arts, the social sciences or humanities. After completing your associate's degree, you can ladder your credits into a Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of Arts with a Major in Interdisciplinary Studies, the Bachelor of Arts with a Major in Psychology and many more.

Associate of Arts Degree

The Associate of Arts Degree comprises two years of university level study in a variety of academic areas. You will complete a broad range of course offerings balanced with an in-depth study in specific disciplines. You will complete upper level course work in their intended major. In addition, you will develop and improve skills essential for academic success. This program is a provincial credential offered by many institutions in the BC Transfer System. 

Associate of Arts Degree is a way to earn credits that can be put toward a university degree while exploring interests and gaining a broad foundation of knowledge. Courses in this program include English, arts, science, social science, humanities, and wide range of electives. This program is ideal for people with diverse interests who want flexibility to sample courses from several subjects in arts, humanities, and social science. Associate degrees from CNC transfer into university programs and give you preferential admission at public universities and university-colleges in BC. 

The Associate of Arts Degree provides a starting point for your further education and opens up education and career opportunities. The Associate of Arts Degree allows you to explore a wide range of courses to discover your specific areas of interest. COTR has numerous transfer and dual admission agreements make it easy to start your education at the College before moving on to complete a credential elsewhere.

The Associate of Arts Degree can lead into a Major or Minor Bachelor of Arts Degree program at a university. You can specialize in fields like anthropology, economics, geography, mathematics, politcal science, psychology, and more. 

The Associate Degree is designed to provide an educational experience that prepares students for work, citizenship and an enriched life as an educated person, and to lay a solid foundation for further study. The Associate Degree curriculum comprises two years of post-secondary level study in a variety of academic areas. Students are required to complete a broad range of course offerings balanced with in-depth study in specific disciplines. Since many students will continue their studies, the requirements are sufficiently flexible to enable students to plan their educational program carefully and to complete the required prerequisites for upper-level course work at KPU or another university in British Columbia.

The Associate of Arts Degree gives you the opportunity to choose your specialization areas and tailor the curriculum to your needs. The emphasis is on developing a deeper insight into multiple disciplines, all while building critical thinking, writing, and analyzing abilities. The Associate of Arts Degree is awarded to recognize the successful completion of the equivalent of two years of full-time study. Transfer credit may be granted for approved courses completed at other institutions. Upon successful completion, students can transfer to a University into their desired Arts or Education majors.

The Associate of Arts Degree explores critical thinking and research skills through studies in one specific area or a variety of subjects. Students can complete an associate degree which offers transfer credit toward any B.C. university.

Associate of Arts Degree (NIC)

The Associate of Arts Degree (Education) prepares you for entry into the Alaska Highway Consortium on Teacher Education, the joint teacher-training program offered by Simon Fraser University and NLC. Credits may also be applied toward a degree. You'll take courses in a range of subjects, including English, Geography, History, Math, First Nations Studies, Education, and more.

Associate of Arts (Education) Degree

The Associate of Arts (Health Studies) prepares you for entry into health-related degree programs and provides broad coverage across the Arts and Sciences while introducing you to nursing with prerequisite requirements in the social sciences, English, Indigenous studies, human anatomy and physiology, microbiology, psychology, and statistics.

Associate of Arts (Health Studies) Degree

The Associate of Arts Degree provides university-level learning opportunities that reflect the intellectual and creative modes of inquiry practiced in the Arts and Sciences. Through a variety of first- and second-year courses you can pursue numerous credential and career options, and engage in personal enrichment. This provincially recognized credential provides a well-rounded educational experience that prepares you for work, citizenship, and further study.

The Associate of Arts Degree develops your critical thinking and research skills, with the option to choose from more than 300 courses in 23 subject areas. The Associate of Arts Degree is granted upon completion of 60 credits of study. Students with an Associate of Arts Degree if admitted to BC universities are guaranteed full transfer credit for the work done for their Associate Degree. 

The Associate of Arts degree gives you a well-rounded blend of Arts courses designed to let you see some of the options you will have later, once you decide on a specialty to focus on. Giving you a full two years of study, the General Associate of Arts degree fulfills most, if not all, course requirements for third-year entry into BC approved Bachelor of Arts university degree programs. Mix and match your courses to suit your needs and interests, as long as they fulfill the specified requirements.

The Associate of Arts Degree provides a broad academic education that prepares students for workplace and upper-level university study. Students who participate in the science requirement includes a hands-on laboratory course. 

The Associate of Arts Degree includes a breadth of intellectual and academic experience worthwhile if your educational or career goals lie in the humanities, the creative and performing arts, or the social sciences. In addition, practicum opportunities and optional paid co-op work placements throughout your studies allow you to gain valuable work experience. The Associate of Arts degree may serve as a stepping stone if you plan to continue your studies to earn a Bachelor of Arts at UFV or elsewhere.

Associate of Arts Degrees are awarded to students who complete at least 60 credits of university program courses, and obtain an average overall grade of “C”, as well as meeting the additional requirements for each associate degree. Students who qualify for an associate degree must submit an application to graduate.
