This instructional program class comprises any general program that focuses on the design and provision of teaching and other educational services to children or adults with special learning needs or disabilities, and that prepares individuals to function as special education teachers in a collaborative or team environment. These programs include courses in diagnosing learning disabilities, developing individual education plans, teaching and supervising special education students, special education counselling, and applicable laws and policies.

Special education and teaching, general

This instructional program class comprises any program that prepares individuals to teach environmental education at various educational levels as a K-12 classroom educator. These programs include courses in foundations of environmental education, instructional methods, and related content knowledge.

Environmental teacher education

This instructional program class comprises any program that focuses on the principles and practice of teaching French to students who are not proficient in French or who do not speak, read, or write French, and prepares individuals to serve as teachers and administrators.

The Environmental Education Post-Baccalaureate Diploma is designed for practicing teachers who want to assist students to develop a greater awareness and understanding of the broadly defined environment. The program encompasses aspects of environment education. Through selected course work, environmental issues are explored using a multidisciplinary approach and historical and contemporary issues in human-environment interaction as related to diverse curricula. You'll take courses in environmental education, Indigenous education, curriculum development, multicultural and anti-racist education, and more. 

Environmental Education Post-Baccalaureate Diploma

The Department of French and the Faculty of Education jointly offer the French and Education Post-Baccalaureate Diploma, comprising a set of courses for practising or future French teachers. This program includes courses directly related to the pedagogy of French as a second language as well as courses enhancing previous language competence, or knowledge of French literature or linguistics.

French and Education Post-Baccalaureate Diploma

The Special Education Post-Baccalaureate Diploma offers educators and health care professionals who work with children and adults with disabilities the opportunity to consolidate work in lifespan development and special education in a way that facilitates a common discussion ground. The course work emphasizes knowledge and skills about lifespan development, individual differences, and assessment and support. Emphasis is placed on understanding how challenges presented to families of children with disabilities change over time as children mature and as they make transitions across home, school and community contexts.

The Interdisciplinary Studies in Contemporary Education Post-Baccalaureate Diploma provides professional development opportunities for educators and respond to the needs of schools and districts for education specialists. This program prepares teachers and education specialists to work with children and adolescents in a variety of areas, including early learning, inclusive education, and language and literacy.
