This instructional program class comprises any program that prepares individuals to apply technical knowledge and skills to repair, service, and maintain all aircraft components other than engines, propellers, avionics, and instruments. These programs include courses in layout and fabrication of sheet metal, fabric, wood, and other materials into structural members, parts, and fittings, and replacement of damaged or worn parts such as control cables and hydraulic units.

Flight Operations Commercial Pilot Diplomas

Air pilots fly fixed wing aircraft and helicopters to provide air transportation and other services such as crop spraying and aerial surveying. Flight engineers assist air pilots with monitoring, troubleshooting and maintenance of aircraft systems and with pre- and post-flight inspections. Flying instructors teach flying techniques and procedures to student and licensed pilots. Air pilots, flight engineers and flight instructors are employed by airline and air freight companies, flying schools and by other public and private sector aircraft operators.

The Airline and Flight Operations Commercial Pilot (Fixed-Wing) Diploma is operated by BCIT and Pacific Flying Club, who have combined their resources to offer a unique training opportunity if you wish to become airline pilots with a strong skill set of aviation industry knowledge. It is a fully integrated program that combines flight training with industry focused academic training. You'll receive training required to qualify for a Private Pilot Licence (PPL), Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL), Multi Engine Rating, Instrument Flight Rating, and a Diploma. The Diploma is designed specifically to meet the professional growth needs of an aviator in the exciting aviation business. qualify for a commercial pilot’s licence while attaining a post-secondary diploma. The Airline and Flight Operations Diploma program follows training standards prescribed by both Transport Canada and the aviation industry. It is delivered at the  Aerospace and Technology Campus and at the Boundary Bay Airport.

Airline and Flight Operations Commercial Pilot (Fixed-Wing Option): Diploma

The Airline and Flight Operations Commercial Pilot (Rotary-Wing) Diploma is operated by BCIT, Pacific Flying Club, and Chinook Helicopters Ltd. who have combined their resources to offer a unique training opportunity if you wish to become commercial rotary-wing pilots. This fully integrated program brings fixed and rotary-wing flight training together with industry-focused academic training to provide learners with a strong set of aviation industry skills and knowledge. You will complete flight training required to qualify for a fixed wing Private Pilot Licence (PPL) in the first two terms of study then proceed to the rotary-wing Commercial Pilot Licence training, all in concert with an aviation Diploma.
