Retail sales supervisors

This instructional program class comprises any program that focuses on the general study of business, including the processes of interchanging goods and services (buying, selling and producing), business organization, and accounting as used in profit-making and non-profit public and private institutions and agencies. The program prepares individuals to apply business principles and techniques in various occupational settings.

General Business Certificates

Retail sales supervisors supervise and coordinate the activities of workers in the following unit groups: Retail salespersons and visual merchandisers (64100), Cashiers (65100), Store shelf stockers, clerks and order fillers (65102) and Other sales related occupations (65109). They are employed by stores and other retail businesses, wholesale businesses that sell on a retail basis to the public, rental service establishments and businesses involved in door-to-door soliciting and telemarketing.

The  Business Fundamentals (BFUN) Associate Certificate provides an academic path if you're an international or permanent resident student whose first language is not English (and do not meet the general English requirements) to enter a full-time diploma program in the School of Business. Upon completion, you can enter a number of full-time and part-time diploma programs with credits from the Business Fundamentals program or, if you already have a degree or diploma, enter with an advanced standing. The associate certificate also offers an opportunity to learn basic Canadian business skills and improve English competency if you're looking for a shorter program. You'll take courses in computer, organizational behaviour and management, accounting and math, communications, and Canadian business and society. Once you graduate, you'll have the skills to work at an entry-level position in the Canadian marketplace. 

Business Fundamentals (BFUN): Associate Certificate

The Global Business Studies Associate Certificate provides an opportunity for you to gain a global business perspective through coursework at  and participate in a short-term global experiential component at international destinations. You'll take courses in intercultural business communication and workplace diversity, management fundamentals, international trade, international business language and culture, and more. 

Global Business Studies: Associate Certificate

The General Business Certificate allows you to gain key business skills or sharpen those you've already developed in the workplace. This program is often pursued by mature working students who want to upgrade their education and skills to prepare for advancement in their careers. You’ll choose from Commerce and Business Administration courses in your field of interest, such as accounting, finance, economics, management, business law, computing studies and information systems, and or/marketing. You'll also have the option to participate in the Business Intership program. 

General Business Certificate

The Local Industry Skills Training Certificate, Retail and Business Services, is designed for students who have a barrier to learning and/or employment. The program is self-paced, with classroom, lab and two four-week work experience components. Students train for retail, wholesale, and office positions by learning duties such as data entry, filing, photocopying, sorting mail and basic retail functions, including shipping and receiving, stocking merchandise, and customer service.

Local Industry Skills Training (Retail and Business Services) Certificate

The one-year General Business Studies Certificate Program is designed to provide students with a broad range of fundamental business skills and an understanding of the business environment. Many classes are offered in the evening to accommodate part-time studies. The Certificate program requires completion of 10 courses and emphasizes real world business applications in key functional areas.

General Business Studies Certificate

The Business Studies Certificate allows you to focus on a specific discipline from accounting, business computer applications, entrepreneurship and small business management, financial services, human resources management, management, marketing, tourism and hospitality management, and healthcare professionals. This program may be of interest if you already employed. All Business Studies Certificates require the use of Microsoft Office software and computer experience is recommended.

Business Studies Certificate

The Business Foundations Certificate provides the basic office skills needed to secure an entry-level accounting or administration position. It is ideal for students who can only spend a short time in school or who want to earn a business credential quickly or advance at work.

Business Foundations Certificate

The Business Skills Certificate provides core writing and technology skills. This allows students to build toward the Acheivement in Business Competencies (Blue Seal) program.
