Medical office assistant/specialist

This instructional program class comprises any program that prepares individuals, under the supervision of office managers, nurses, or physicians, to provide customer service, visitor reception, and patient intake and discharge services. These programs include courses in medical office and health care facility procedures, medical terminology, interpersonal skills, record keeping, customer service, telephone skills, data entry, interpersonal communications skills, and applicable policies and regulations.

Medical reception/receptionist

This instructional program class comprises any program that prepares individuals to perform the duties of special assistants and personal secretaries for practicing physicians and nurses, health care facilities and services administrators, and other health care professionals. Medical Office Assistant: Associate Certificate (Part-Time)

The Medical Office Assistant Certificate prepares you for the administrative and clinical duties of an office assistant in a medical or healthcare office. Our Medical Terminology course will develop the skills you need to understand medical terms including common medical prefixes, suffixes and combining forms as well as an exploration of the body systems. The Medical Office Assistant Certificate provides a combination of synchronous and asynchronous online courses as well as hands-on clinical training. The Medical Office Assistant (MOA) is a dynamic and vital role within a medical office team. The Medical Office Administration Certificate will teach you procedures for medical office administration, including how to communicate accurately with medical professionals and patients. You’ll take MOA courses in anatomy, physiology, medical transcription, medical and pharmaceutical terminology, patient scheduling and billing, and develop your clinical skills with a three-week practicum.
