To practice as a Natural Gas and Petroleum Supply Manager in B.C., you must register with Engineers and Geoscientists B.C. Eligibility is achieved through graduation from an accredited program, 4 years of work experience as an Engineer-In-Training, and successful completion of the National Professional Practice Examination.

This instructional program class comprises any general program that focuses on the studies and activities relating to the natural environment and its conservation, use, and improvement. These programs include courses in subjects such as climate, air, soil, water, land, fish and wildlife, and plant resources; in the basic principles of environmental science and natural resources management; and the recreational and economic uses of renewable and non-renewable natural resources.

The Bachelor of Science in Natural Resources Conservation helps you to develop the skills to play an active role in protecting and managing our natural environments, such as wildlife, forests, rivers, oceans, and land. By gaining an understanding of how to balance social, economic, cultural, and aesthetic issues, this multidisciplinary degree will help you shape our future and our planet. Core subjects include biodiversity and sustainability, resource socio-economics and policy, ecology and conservation biology, and land-use planning. You'll have the option to participate in Co-op experiences, and will graduate prepared to work in the conservation field. 

Conservation: Bachelor of Science in Natural Resources Degree - Major (UBCV)

The Bachelor of Science Degree in Global Resource Systems focuses on the solutions to complex resource problems as you delve into global food systems and their link to human and environmental health, agrifood systems, and more. You’ll have the opportunity to design your own degree and travel to other countries as you prepare for an internationally-focused career. You’ll focus on local and international resource issues and build your own degree path through a combination of science, humanities, and social science courses offered at faculties across UBCV. As part of a mandatory international field study, you’ll spend one or two semesters studying or volunteering abroad, usually in the region of your specialization. After graduation, you'll be prepared for careers in government, in the private sector, in non-governmental organizations, and more to focus on resource and food management. 

Global Resource Systems: Bachelor of Science Degree (UBCV)

In the Bachelor of Science Degree in Wood Products, you'll gain a comprehensive understanding of wood science, business, and advanced manufacturing operations, while developing transferable skills in problem solving, communication, leadership, and teamwork. After completing foundational courses in math, physics, and chemistry in first year, you’ll begin developing your knowledge of wood and material science and primary and secondary wood processing technologies. In senior years, you’ll learn how to analyze and optimize manufacturing operations. In your final year, you’ll focus on an area of interest with a major project. Career options include material processing, wood finishing, product design, quality control, and more.

The Bachelor of Science Degree in Conservation Science and Practice will help you understand and address the contemporary challenges facing the sustainable use and conservation of our environment. The degree is focused on the natural sciences but draws on methods, theory, and practice from the social sciences. This recognizes that humans are part of socio-ecological systems; thus, the human dimensions of conservation are integral components of the curriculum.

Conservation Science and Practice: Bachelor of Science Degree - Major or Honours

The Bachelor of Natural Resource Protection Degree builds on the existing two-year Resource Management Officer Technology (RMOT) Diploma. The Bachelor of Natural Resource Protection will enable RMOT diploma graduates to receive an undergraduate degree after an additional two years of course work. This degree has been designed to provide an advanced credential for other career opportunities in the natural resource conservation and protection field.
