The Bachelor of Science in Nursing is where you'll build your knowledge, skills, and attitudes. You'll learn from a combination of practical experience and coursework in science and the humanities. As part of your degree, you'll have access to meaningful work term placements so that you can integrate your academic knowledge with real-world nursing practice. You'll spend 2.5 years at Camosun, which includes 5 academic semesters and 2 spring practicum terms. You'll then move to the University of Victoria to finish up your final 2 semesters and consolidated practice experiences, which takes a total of 1.5 years. 

Nursing: Bachelor of Science Degree (BSN)

The Northern Collaborative Baccalaureate Nursing Program (NCBNP) prepares students for entry into the Registered Nurse profession. The program is offered collaboratively with the College of New Caledonia (CNC) and the University of Northern British Columbia (UNBC). After completing two years of study at CMTN, NCBNP students continue at UNBC Terrace Campus (or transfer to a partner site) to complete third and fourth year of a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN). Graduates are eligible to write the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX-RN) and to apply for registration with the British Columbia College of Nursing Professionals (BCCNP) after passing the exams. Graduates are prepared for the changing context of health care and health care delivery and are knowledgeable in current nursing practice, with an emphasis in the following areas: Acute care nursing, Rural nursing, Aboriginal health, and Community health.

Nursing: Bachelor of Science Degree (Northern Collaborative Baccalaureate Nursing Program)

The Northern Collaborative Baccalaureate Nursing Program (NCBNP) is offered in collaboration with partner institutions. Years 1 and 2 are provided through CNC (Prince George or Quesnel), CMTN (Terrace). Years 3 and 4 are provided by UNBC in Prince George, Quesnel, and Terrace. Upon completion of this program, you will receive a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) degree granted by UNBC. Graduates qualify to write the National Council Licensure Exam (NCLEX-RN) and to register with the British Columbia College of Nursing Professionals (BCCNP). 

The Bachelor of Science in Nursing is approved by the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM) and is nationally accredited by the Canadian Association of Schools of Nursing (CASN). Upon graduation, you will be prepared for entry level practice in diverse health care settings ranging from acute care hospitals to community-based programs. After completion of semester 5 at the College, you will become University of Victoria students while remaining at the College in Cranbrook, BC, and will complete all their remaining undergraduate degree requirements through the College while graduating with a University of Victoria Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree.

The Bachelor of Science in Nursing prepares graduates who are committed to excellence in professional practice and who will be able to contribute to the health and well-being of individuals, families, communities across a continuum of care needs. BSN graduates will be educated to provide safe, competent and compassionate nursing care grounded in theory and professional standards. The conceptual framework is based on the concepts of relational practice, critical inquiry, leadership, ethics of care, health promotion and inter-professional collaboration. This degree program is designed to give students the knowledge and experience for safe, compassionate, evidence-based, competent and ethical nursing practice. Classroom learning is augmented with supervised clinical practicums each semester as well as hands-on practice in our campus simulation labs. 

This program is intended for students who already have a baccalaureate degree (four-year undergraduate degree) and allows students to transition to the field of nursing. The program is recognized by The British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM). The purpose of the program is to educate nurses to practice with a variety of clients in various settings, guided by a health promotion perspective and a capacity for effective relational engagement. Students will learn to work as partners with clients and with other health care providers. Students learn to be independent, accountable, reflective, self-directed, self-motivated and life-long learners with questioning minds and familiarity with inquiry approaches to learning.

Nursing: Bachelor of Science Advanced Entry

The program is recognized by The British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM). The purpose of the program is to educate nurses to work with individuals, families, groups and communities from a health promotion perspective and with an ethic of caring. The program will assist students to develop sensitivity to people's experiences with health and healing across the lifespan in a variety of settings. Through their understanding of and participation in the changing health care system, graduates will be active participants in creating health for all. Graduates will be eligible to apply to write national examinations to obtain registration to practice as registered nurses in British Columbia.

The Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing equips you with the broad base of knowledge and skills necessary to provide professional nursing care in the health care system. Are you a Licensed Practical Nurse looking to advance your career? This bridging options allows qualified LPNs to enter directly into the second year of the BSN program. This pathway is for highly motivated candidates ready to take the next step toward becoming an RN. 

 The Northern Baccalaureate Nursing program is a collaboration between the University of Northern British Columbia, Northern Health, and Northern Lights College to train registered nurses in the North for employment in the North. When enrolled in this program, you will take all general studies and prerequisite courses for admission to UNBC in your first two years (four semesters) of full-time study at Northern Lights College. In year three, you will transfer to UNBC in Fort St. John to complete your Bachelor of Science in Nursing in two years (five consecutive semesters).

Northern Baccalaureate Nursing Program

The Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) supports your development of the knowledge, skills, and values necessary for the practice of professional nursing in a complex health care system. The program is designed to educate nurses to work with individual clients, families and communities from a health promotion perspective. You will learn the importance of understanding the client’s experience of health and healing and how to practice from an ethic of caring. You will learn through a combination of face-to-face academic, simulated, and practical experiences. We are in a degree granting partnership with the University of Victoria and students take the final continuous terms of third and fourth year UVic courses at Selkirk College.

The Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) gives you the technical knowledge, human understanding, and practical skills to administer responsible and client-centered care as a registered nurse (RN) in a variety of health care practice agencies (institutional, community and international) and with people who have a variety of health concerns. Upon completion of the BScN Program, you are eligible to write the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX). Upon successful completion of the NCLEX you apply for registration to the BC College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM) to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN).

The Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree is offered to Canadians and permanent residents through direct on-campus learning, a mandatory practicum, and through several transfer programs with B.C. colleges and universities. The Bachelor of Science in Nuring Year 1 entry provides industry training to provide safe, ethical, culturally sensitive, and person-centered care as a registered nurse in hospitals, communities, homes, clinics, and residential facilities.
