To work as a cardiopulmonary technologist in B.C., you may choose to be certified through the Canadian Association of Cardio-pulmonary Technologists. Eligibility is achieved by completing a Bachelor of Science degree, or by being a Registered Nurse, or holding a recognized Medical Technologies Registration, in addition to a minimum of 1800 hours in the field of pulmonary technology at a recognized institution.

Get your first year of post-secondary behind you with the nursing pathway certificate program. With this program, you’ll be kickstarting your Nursing Degree with a lighter course load, so you can have more time to figure out what your future holds. After receiving your Nursing Pathways Certificate, you have the option to apply to the Bachelor of Nursing program to continue your studies, or to transfer credits to a related program that better suits your future goals.

If you plan on applying to the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) at Douglas College, you will need to first complete the one-year Certificate in Academic Foundations for Potential Nursing Applicants. You'll take 10 university-transferable courses (30 credits) in the sciences and liberal arts that will prepare you for entrance to the BSN program. Acceptance to this program and completion of the required courses does not guarantee admission to the BSN program. Once you have completed the required 30 credits with a minimum grade of C+ in each course, you may apply to the BSN program.
