University Transfer

The University Transfer program lets you mix and match your credit courses to create an educational plan that’s right for you. Full-time, part-time, general studies of a specific focus- it’s your custom program. Transfer credits are courses you've completed at one school that can be used to meet the requirements of a degree or diploma at a different college or university. Camosun offers over 300 transferable courses in over 30 different subject areas so you can mix and match your credit courses to create an educational plan that's right for you.

University Transfer Studies

The University Credit program allows you to earn the first two years of a four-year bachelor's degree, register for a single course, or take professional development courses. 

University Credit (Transfer Studies) Program

The University Studies program offers the first two years of instruction, so you need to transfer to a university to finish your degree. You transfer the credits you receive for CNC courses to a university and continue on to complete your degree. When you take one of our UT courses, it’s as though you were studying in the same class at a university. For example, if you complete our introductory psychology course, a university will give you credit for its introductory course. To ensure your credits transfer seamlessly, CNC has formal agreements in place with the following BC universities: Emily Carr University, Kwantlen Polytechnic University, University of British Columbia, University of Northern British Columbia, Simon Fraser University, Thompson Rivers University, University of Victoria and Vancouver Island University. 

The one-year Science Certificate prepares you to further your studies in the College’s Associate of Science degree and/or a bachelor’s degree at one of COTR's partner institutions. Domestic students can start this program in September, January, or May, whichever is a better fit for you. Take a year to explore the sciences and find out what interests you most from fields like Astronomy, Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science, Engineering, Environmental Science, Geography, Geology, Math, Physics, and Statistics.

Are you interested in post secondary academic/university courses but are not sure where your passion lies? Register as a University General Studies (UGS) student to explore your academic interests. Whether you are fresh out of high school, looking for a career change, require a few courses to get into a future program, or wish to explore university level courses that pique your interest, University General Studies is where you can begin.

University General Studies

University Transfer Studies allow you start studying for your degree at Douglas and transfer to another school to complete your studies. The other school will recognize the education you took at Douglas. A course is considered university-transferable (UT) if it transfers to at least one of British Columbia's five research universities (UBC, UBC-Okanagan, SFU, University of Victoria, or University of Northern British Columbia).

High School - Dual Credit is an opportunity for high school students to begin post-secondary programs and courses while they are still in high school. Most dual credit students are Grade 12 students that take a program or course in their second semester (February) of their Grade 12 year.

University of Victoria - Dual Admission allows you to secure your seat at the University of Victoria while you study at NIC and take advantage of the benefits both schools have to offer. Develop university-level research skills in NIC's discussion friendly classes, pay less tuition and qualify for entrance awards at both institutions. Choose from eight UVic degrees in humanities, social science, art history and visual studies, computer science, science, engineering, child and youth care and visual arts.

University of Victoria - Dual Admission (NIC)

Whether you concentrate your university studies in one specific area or explore a variety of subjects, NIC’s fully transferable English, math, science, humanities and social science courses will equip you for success. After completing eight or more eligible transfer courses with a 2.0 GPA or higher, you will be eligible for entrance to select UVic programs with full credit for your NIC coursework.

University of Victoria - Guaranteed Admission (NIC)

The University Studies allows you to take as many or as few courses as necessary. Many courses transfer to other institutions and can be customized and/or to help students move seamlessly into the university or program of your choice.

Take up to two years of classes at NIC before completing your Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science at VIU. The University Transfer Applied Mathematics Certificate allows you to complete first-year applied mathematics at VCC and transfer directly into second-year degree programs at Simon Fraser University (SFU). For the assured pathways to SFU, the maximum time for completion is 16 months. For the competitive admission to SFU, the maximum time for completion is 3 years. 

University Transfer - Applied Mathematics Certificate (Transfer to SFU)

The University Transfer Arts certificate explores critical thinking into systematic inquiry, theoretical reasoning and decision-making. Including development of information literacy skills, effective written, verbal, and visual communication for clients. Students will utilize accepted research process and abilities in all professional inquiries, communication, and scholarship to apply and incorporate meta-cognitive processes for continued learning.

The University Transfer Chemistry Certificate allows you to complete first-year chemistry at VCC and transfer directly into second-year degree programs at Simon Fraser University (SFU). For the assured pathways to SFU, the maximum time for completion is 16 months. For the competitive admission to SFU, the maximum time for completion is 3 years. 

University Transfer - Chemistry Certificate (Transfer to SFU)

The University Transfer Mathematics Certificate allows you to complete first-year mathematics at VCC and transfer directly into second-year degree programs at Simon Fraser University (SFU). For the assured pathways to SFU, the maximum time for completion is 16 months. For the competitive admission to SFU, the maximum time for completion is 3 years. 

University Transfer - Mathematics Certificate (Transfer to SFU)

The University Transfer Science certificate provides a broad understanding of problems related to mathematics and science at the 1st year level, understand and produce oral presentations and written materials, learn how to apply theoretical knowledge and technical skills in solving problems, and use scientific educational experiences as a solid foundation for academic readiness in 2nd year science.

The University Transfer Science Certificate allows you to complete first-year university science at VCC and transfer directly into second-year degree programs at the University of British Columbia (UBC). The maximum allowable time for students to complete the program is three years.

The University Transfer Statistics Certificate allows you to complete first-year statistics at VCC and transfer directly into second-year degree programs at Simon Fraser University (SFU). For the assured pathways to SFU, the maximum time for completion is 16 months. For the competitive admission to SFU, the maximum time for completion is 3 years. 

University Transfer - Statistics Certificate (Transfer to SFU)

The University Transfer Studies program allows you to start your university degree at VCC in a supportive learning environment with attentive instructors. Credits transfer to post-secondary institutions across British Columbia.

Graduates of a recognized Culinary Management diploma or a Baking and Pastry Arts Management diploma are eligible to apply for entrance into VIU's Bachelor of Hospitality Management degree. Combining a degree with a Culinary Management diploma, or a Baking and Pastry Arts Management diploma, and a cook's (TQ or Trade qualification) Red Seal credential enhances the degree graduate's career opportunities. Graduates will have career opportunities in the food and beverage industry, including Executive Chef, Food and Beverage senior management and regional and global positions in the accommodation sector.

EXPO gets you in the door and gives you the opportunity you’re looking for, and it will give us the chance to reach out to help you find your true pathway.

Exploratory University Studies (EXPO) Program

VIU offers the first year of a four-year Bachelor of Science Degree in Physics. You can transfer to the University of British Columbia (UBC) or the University of Victoria (UVic) after the first year. You'll gain training in quantitative thinking, problem solving, modeling, and experimental techniques.
