What is the StrongerBC future skills grant program?

The StrongerBC future skills grant can help you build skills for good jobs in growing industries. It supports B.C.’s Look West Strategy by making short-term training more accessible for people across the province.

If you live in B.C. and are 19 or older, you may be able to get up to $3,500 for eligible short-term training. This funding can make it easier to take the next step toward work, career growth or a new opportunity.

Since fall 2023, the grant has helped more than 16,500 people take training for jobs in areas such as health care, construction and mining.

This grant may be a good fit if you want to:

  • Build skills that can help you move up in your career

  • Train for a new job in a growing field

  • Gain skills to re-enter the labour market

  • Take flexible training that fits your life

  • Complete shorter training while working or managing other responsibilities

  • Access training if opportunities have felt out of reach

  • Learn practical, job-ready skills
