The Interprofessional Mental Health Practice Certificate builds knowledge and competencies needed to work with clients who have mental health issues as you gain expertise in mental health training in this evidence-and practice-based program.

1. High school graduation or equivalent
2. One of the following:
    - Current employment in a health care, criminal justice, social services or treatment facility setting 
    - Graduation from a certificate, diploma or bachelor’s degree program in health and human services 
    - Permission of the associate dean or designate 
    - Fourth-year standing in TRU's Nursing program or permission from the School of Nursing 
    - Eligibility to take a 4000-level course


Academic Admission Requirement

1. Online application form, supporting documents and a program plan are required for open admission. 

2. Aside from program entry/admission requirements, there are also specific course registration requirements (called prerequisites) which are listed within TRU-OL course description. Prerequisite = Course that must be successfully completed prior to registering in a given course. Some courses have recommended or required course prerequisites. For course registration and program completion purposes, please check course prerequisites and make sure you are eligible before registering individual courses.

3. If you do not meet course prerequisites, assessments and high school equivalent upgrading courses available. 
4. After program admission and prior to enrolment in the practicum course, a completed Consent to a Criminal Record Check (CRC) form
