The Bachelor of Science in Microbiology is designed to provide graduates with a breadth of knowledge in microbiology as it applies to the environment, health, and industry. You will gain a wide range of lab, communication, critical thinking, and writing skills. You will be prepared for a career in microbiology, in fields ranging from public policy and medical sciences, to renewable energy and pollution control.

Students must be admitted into Bachelor of Science to pursue this program. 

1. High school graduation or equivalent

2. English 12 or equivalent

3. Minimum six academic/non-academic Grade 12 courses (recommended)

4. Pre-calculus 12 or equivalent (67%)

5. One of:
    - Anatomy and Physiology 12
    - Chemistry 12 
    - Environmental Science 12
    - Geology 12 
    - Physics 12 
    - Equivalent 

6. Chemistry 11

7. Grades presented in all relevant academic Grade 11 and Grade 12 courses that fall under these subject categories* will be looked at:
    - Language Arts
    - Mathematics & Computation
    - Sciences 

Note(*): There is no minimum number of courses required for admission, but you are encouraged to challenge yourself with a substantial number of courses that are relevant to your intended area of study.

1. Students can pursue a Major, Minor or Honours within the Bachelor of Science degree. While coursework usually starts in the first year, you are encouraged to declare your Major at the end of your first-year undergraduate study in order to take the prerequisite second-year courses.
