The Mechanical Engineering Advanced Diploma are for technology diploma grads who want to continue with third-year studies at the University of Victoria (UVic) or the University of British Columbia (UBC) to finish an engineering degree. The Engineering Bridge programs at Camosun are unique and recognized across Canada as an excellent transition from a technology diploma to an Applied Science degree at UBC. Although the Bridge programs are designed for graduates of technology diplomas delivered through Camosun, all graduates from accredited Canadian Technology Accreditation Board (CTAB) programs are welcome to apply.

1. *One of:
    - Diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technology (B CGPA) completed within the last 5 years, and no individual course below a 'C' grade 
    - Diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technology (B CGPA) completed more than 5 years ago, no individual course below a 'C' grade, and a letter of intent outlining your work experience and/or professional development since diploma-completion
    - Diploma from another closely related discipline completed (B CGPA) within the last 5 years, no individual course below a 'C' grade, and an approval by the Engineering Bridge Coordinator

2. High school graduation or equivalent 

*Notes: Diploma programs must be accredited by Technology Accreditation Canada (TAC) to be eligible for admission

Academic Admission Requirement

1. Official transcripts (final and/or in-progress) from all secondary or post-secondary institutions attended

Notes:
   - Regardless of relevance to Engineering studies, all post-secondary transcripts must be submitted. 
   - “In progress” transcripts may be accepted if students are currently enrolled in the final courses of their diploma program.  The courses must be completed prior to acceptance for admission
   - Camosun College diploma graduates are not required to submit Camosun College transcripts.

Additional Academic Admission Requirement

1. The Mechanical Engineering Bridge to the University of British Columbia program is offered by Camosun College with co-operation of the University of British Columbia (UBC).

2. Admission selection process involves the following stages:

    - GPA is calculated using all courses taken toward completion of a student’s Technology diploma, including all course repeats
    - A joint meeting between UBC and Camosun College to rank the applicants based on the GPA achieved to determine which applicants will be offered admission to the bridge program.
