The Education Assistant and Community Support Worker Certificate provides knowledge and skillls to work with children and adults living with disabilities, along with their families, teachers and other support professionals.

1. High school graduation or equivalent (mature students are welcome to apply)
2. English 12 (C) or equivalent

Academic Admission Requirement


1. Current resume
2. Two personal reference forms
3. Minimum 30 hours of supervised paid or volunteer work experience (confirmed by work experience form filled out by a supervisor at the work setting)
4. Negative TB test or a clear chest x-ray (less than 6 months old) if requested by practicum organizations
5. Criminal Record Check from the Ministry of Justice completed within 90 days of program start date
6. Personal Statement of interest (250 words) 
7. Attend an orientation (which will be arranged by the program designate) 

Additional Academic Admission Requirement


1. Students applying to the diploma program immediately following completion of a Human Services certificate program, may request that the contents of their file be transferred.

Admission Advice

Applications may be submitted up to 12 months before the program start date, in September. Qualified applicants are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. Early application is recommended.

International students are advised to apply well in advance to allow for appropriate time for Study Permit processing.
