Residential Building Maintenance Worker
Residential Building Maintenance Worker means a person who maintains and repairs buildings (single family unit, multi-unit low-rise and high-rise) including minor carpentry, drywall, electrical, flooring, painting, plumbing, refrigeration and ventilation, and roofing repairs, maintenance, inspections, testing and problem-identification; and including the same for simple commercial, institutional and mixed-use buildings, within BC Safety Authority and WCB regulations.

Individuals who wish to begin an apprenticeship in this program must register with SkilledTradesBC along with their sponsor. Application forms for all programs are available from the SkilledTradesBC website. Online registration is also available for most programs through the SkilledTradesBC website. Those who wish to challenge the Residential Building Maintenance Worker certification must complete the Residential Building Maintenance Worker Challenge Application and submit it to SkilledTradesBC. Challenge applications are assessed for proof of workplace hours and scope of experience prior to acceptance of the individual into the Challenge pathway.
