The Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree is offered to Canadians and permanent residents through direct on-campus learning, a mandatory practicum, and through several transfer programs with B.C. colleges and universities. As a nurse, you’ll directly influence the health of individuals, families and communities. You'll gain experience through our practicum placements. Test your practice in our hospital-based clinical simulation centre.

UVic offers the final continuous terms of third and fourth year of the Bachelor of Science in Nursing program on-campus for students continuing from college partner sites Aurora College, Camosun College, College of the Rockies and Selkirk College.

Option A. Study at Camosun College (UVIC Nursing Partnership Program)

1. Students admitted into the Bachelor of Science in Nursing program at Camosun College will spend 2.5 years at Camosun College (which includes 5 academic semesters and 2 practicum terms), and then move to UVIC for completing the final 1.5 years of the BSN program (which includes 2 semesters and consolidated practice experiences)

To apply to the BSN program at Camosun, you must have Canadian citizenship or permanent residency and be one of the following:

- a current high school student in BC or Yukon
- a high school graduate
- a college or university student.

Or

Option B. Study at the college (university transfer program)

Students who start the nursing program at Aurora College, Selkirk College or College of the Rockies will study at one of these colleges for 2.5 years and apply to UVIC for the final 1.5 years of UVIC's BSN program* (which includes final continuous terms of third- and fourth-year UVIC courses at their respective college campuses).

As you progress through the program, your college will prepare you to meet our admission requirements and guide you through the process of transferring to UVIC.

Note (*): In the final 1.5 years of the program, students in the Program will become University of Victoria students, while staying on site at the College to complete remaining undergraduate degree requirements of UVic.

Academic Admission Requirement

For students continuing to UVic

1. School of Nursing application form

2. New original copy of municipal / RCMP criminal record check

3. Photocopy of your current basic life support certificate (level C or higher) 

4. Evidence of a personal respirator 

Additional Academic Admission Requirement

1. High school graduates should visit the respective college websites to learn more about year-one admission requirements and how to apply. 

2. It is recommended that you provide evidence of complete current immunizations on admission to the program. You must also keep your immunizations updated and provide documentation to practice agencies when required.

3. The School of Nursing does not accept applications from students attending post-secondary institutions outside the College-University Transfer.

Admission Advice

UVIC offers the final continuous terms of third and fourth year of the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program on-campus for students continuing from college partner sites Aurora College, Camosun College, College of the Rockies and Selkirk College.

There is one entry point (January) for the BSN Partnership Program. The application deadline is 4:00 pm on September 30 for January entry to UVIC. Late or incomplete application packages will not be considered.		
			
The above noted application process is specific to students who are presently completing the college portion of the BSN program.	
			
Students looking to apply to a college partner site would do so directly through the college partner site.
