The Bachelor of Science in Nursing is where you'll build your knowledge, skills, and attitudes. You'll learn from a combination of practical experience and coursework in science and the humanities. As part of your degree, you'll have access to meaningful work term placements so that you can integrate your academic knowledge with real-world nursing practice. You'll spend 2.5 years at Camosun, which includes 5 academic semesters and 2 spring practicum terms. You'll then move to the University of Victoria to finish up your final 2 semesters and consolidated practice experiences, which takes a total of 1.5 years.

The program is a partnership with the University of Victoria, with a common admission process being established. Application is competitive.

Option A. Direct entry from high school
1. High school graduation or equivalent
2. English 12 (73%) or equivalent 
3. English 11 or equivalent 
4. Meet the English Language Proficiency requirement
5. Foundations of Math 11 (73%) or equivalent 
6. Biology 11/Life Sciences 11 (73%) or equivalent
7. Anatomy and Physiology 12 (73%) or equivalent
8. Chemistry 11 or equivalent 
9. Chemistry 12 or equivalent 
10. Social Studies 11 or equivalent 
11. Approved academic Grade 12 course

Option B. University transfer

Academic Admission Requirement

1. Complete the Requisite Skills and Abilities (RSA) form - confirming acknowledgement and understanding of the requirements for registration with the British Columbia College of Nursing Professionals (BCCNP) as laid out in the BCCNP document Requisite Skills and Abilities (RSAs).

2. Upon acceptance into the program and before classes start, you will be required to:
    - Negative TB skin test or chest x-ray (no more than six months before the program start date)
    - Evidence of immunization status. (You are highly recommended to maintain current immunizations as per the Practice Education Guidelines of B.C.)
    - Current Standard First Aid Certification and including the airway management and oxygen therapy courses (BLS add-on courses) prior to the first semester of the program. Currency must be maintained throughout the program
    - Have yearly respirator mask "fit-testing" done early (students are responsible for any associated costs);
    - Criminal Record Check (Camosun will send you information on how to complete your Criminal Record Check after you have been accepted to your program.)
    - Completion of BC Provincial Violence Prevention Training prior to clinical/practicum placements 

Additional Academic Admission Requirement

1. This program is in high demand, and admission is competitive. Meeting minimum requirements does not guarantee admission to the Program.

2. GPA for competitive entry ranking will be calculated on the four Grade 12 courses or equivalent ABE alternatives.

3. For students who have studied at another post-secondary institution in B.C., you can use B.C. Transfer Guide to find out course equivalency and transferability.

4. After the January 31 document/transcript deadline, no in-progress course work can be used towards admission requirements (exceptions for current BC/Yukon high school students).

5. There is priority seating in this program for students of Indigenous ancestry.

6. The program will maintain a short waitlist for entry into the same year, pending withdrawals or deferrals. In extenuating circumstances, an invited applicant may apply for a one year deferral. The waitlist will not be retained for future years. Those applicants meeting the academic requirements, but not gaining a seat in the year of application will need to reapply and resubmit academic information already provided.
