The Academic Upgrading and BC Adult Graduation Diploma is to improve subject understanding, study skills and complete prerequisite courses such as biology, chemistry, English, math and physics along with college success, computer sciences and social studies.

(Minimum grade)
1. Minimum 18 years of age at the time of registration
2. Completion of the College Readiness Tool (CRT) assessment to determine ideal course-level placement prior to course registration 
3. Interview with an instructor to choose the best set of courses based on applicant's past education and current academic goals 

Additional Academic Admission Requirement


1. Students applying to Academic Upgrading are not subject to the general admission requirements for Selkirk College.

2. Students 16 or 17 years of age may be considered for admission, provided all other admission requirements are met. To do so, you must get the approval from the Intake Instructor by demonstrating at the interview that you can perform in an adult learning environment.

Admission Advice

Applications may be submitted up to 12 months before the program start date, in September. Qualified applicants are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. Early application is recommended.

International students are advised to apply well in advance to allow for appropriate time for Study Permit processing.
