The Northern Collaborative Baccalaureate Nursing Program (NCBNP) is offered collaboratively by UNBC, the College of New Caledonia (CNC), and Coast Mountain College (CMTN). The integrated program of studies leads to a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN), awarded by UNBC. Your learning experiences  Learning experiences take place in the classroom, community, laboratory, and in clinical settings promoting integration of theoretical knowledge into practice. Upon graduation, you will be well grounded in acute care nursing, rural nursing, community health and First Nations health, and will be prepared for the changing context of health care and health care delivery.

1. Meet UNBC admission requirements with a minimum 70% average.

2. Completion of the following high school courses:

English Studies 12 or English First People 12 (70%) or equivalent 
Chemistry 11 (70%) or equivalent 
Pre-Calculus 11 (70%) or Foundations of Mathematics 11 (70%) or Principles of Math 11 (70%) or equivalent 
Biology 12 (73%) or the equivalent of Anatomy & Physiology 12 (73%) (completed within the last 5 years)
two other approved academic Grade 12 courses*
a fifth Grade 12 course* (academic or elective, whichever has the highest grade) 

*- Approved Grade 12 courses can be found in High School Admissions.

Academic Admission Requirement

1. Upon acceptance into the program, the following will be required:

submit a record of your immunization status
submit documentation of CPR-C or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, which must be maintained throughout the program (BLS is recommended;

Additional Academic Admission Requirement

2. Information pertaining to admission requirements for applicants who wish to apply to the Licensed Practical Nurse Access option is available (you will need to scroll down to find the appropriate admission requirements). 

3. If your first language is not English, regardless of citizenship  or country of origin, you must submit the following evidence of English language proficiency prior to admission:

    - BC Secondary School English 12 or equivalent (70%); and
    - One of:
    - International English Language Testing System (Academic IELTS) = 7.0 overall, with at least 7.0 in speaking, 7.0 writing, 7.5 listening and 6.5 reading
    - Canadian English Language Assessment for Burses (CELBAN) = 8.0 speaking, 8.0 reading, 10 listening and 7.0 writing

4. This is a four-year degree program and consists of 136 credits with 95 required credits in nursing. The program is available at three sites: Prince George, Quesnel and Terrace. College of New Caledonia provides the initial 2 years in Prince George and Quesnel, while Coast Mountain College provides the initial 2 years in Terrace. UNBC provides the final course work at all sites.

5. Students must apply at the collaborative colleges: a) The College of New Caledonia in Prince George or Quesnel; or b) Coast Mountain College in Terrace. 

6. Admission Average = for all provinces, the best grade of the five required grade 12 courses will be used. 

7. Self-identified Aboriginal applicants who meet or exceed the minimum requirements for admission will be given priority for up to 20% of the first-year seats for the program.
