College of the Rockies is located on the edge of the Rocky Mountains in the southeastern corner of British Columbia.  The main campus is located in Cranbrook, as is the Gold Creek campus. The College also has satellite campuses in Creston, Fernie, Golden, Invermere and Kimberley.  Program offerings include University Studies: Arts & Sciences, Adult Upgrading, Business Management, Child, Youth and Family Studies, Fire Training, Health, Office Administration, Tourism, and Trades. College of the Rockies offers certificate, diploma, degree, post-degree, and apprenticeship pathways.

The Cranbrook main campus is home to a 96-bed student housing. Accessibility Services and Indigenous Student Services are available. College of the Rockies campuses are surrounded by some of the world’s finest golf, ski resorts and spectacular scenery, allowing you to enjoy the Kootenay Rockies lifestyle to the fullest.

COTR Introduction

If you have not graduated from secondary school you may be considered for admission as a mature student as long as you are at least 19 years old on the first day of classes. You must also meet the specific course/program prerequisites for your intended program.

Each program has individual admissions requirements. To be considered for admission, you must meet or exceed the requirements for your chosen program. You must also meet the English proficiency requirement at a level suitable for your desired program. Program-specific admission requirements can be found on the 'Admission Info' tab of each program profile for Coast Mountain College on EducationPlannerBC's program search database.

College of the Rockies (COTR) offers conditional and direct admission for college programs.

COTR General Admission

1. Students must demonstrate one of the following:
- English 12 (65%) or equivalent and three years of full-time instruction in an English speaking country
- Any English 12 course or equivalent (at the grade needed for your program) or equivalent, and four years of full-time instruction in an English speaking country
- Four consecutive years of recognized instruction at an eligible international secondary school that uses English as the language of instruction but operates in a country where the primary language is not English (note: These four years must be immediately prior to attending the College)
- 6 credits of first-year English course at the post-secondary level

If English is not your first language, direct admission is offered by one of the following (minimum score):
- TOEFL iBT (overall score of 80, with at least 13 in Reading, 21 in Writing, 12 in Listening, 18 in Speaking)
- TOEFL iBT Special Home Edition and the TOEFL ITP Plus for China (overall score of 80, with at least 13 in Reading, 21 in Writing, 12 in Listening, 18 in Speaking)
- IELTS Academic (overall score of 6.0 overall, with no band below 6.0)
- IELTS Indicator (overall score of 6.0, with no band below 6.0) (6.5 overall is required for PDDB)
- CAEL (overall score of 60, with no sub score below 60)
- Pearson Test of English Academic (overall score of 56)
- Duolingo (110) (can be used for admission to Winter 2022 and Spring 2022 semesters)

Conditional admission can be offered after an English Language Assessment. The result will determine if a student has to take ESL and/or High School English or if they can directly enter the full academic program.
