Douglas College is one of the largest public colleges in British Columbia, serving 20,000 credit and continuing education students each year.  At Douglas you can select from over 500 university courses, nine degree programs, over 30 career programs, as well as academic upgrading, continuing education and award-winning customized training options.

In career education, Douglas is recognized for their programs in: health care, community services, criminology, music, performing arts, business, and physical education and coaching.

 FACILITY/SERVICE HIGHLIGHTS: Douglas College has two major campuses in New Westminster and Coquitlam.  Major features include gymnasiums and fitness centers as well as major libraries at both campuses.  The New Westminster campus features two floors of modern student computer labs and a 300-seat Performing Arts Theatre.  The David Lam Campus (Coquitlam) features the three-story Health Sciences Center with specialized learning labs and facilities.

If you have completed post-secondary studies at another institution, you can possibly earn transfer credits toward your current program at Douglas College. Please refer to Douglas College's [Transfer Credit web page](https://www.douglascollege.ca/future-students/admission-information/transfer-credit/transfer-your-credits). The transfer credit evaluation process involves a form, a fee, and sealed, official transcripts.

Transfer credit is not done automatically. Students are responsible for initiating the transfer credit process. To receive transfer credit, you must submit an official transcript with your Application for Admission or Readmission along with a Transfer Credit Request form. A detailed course description may also be required before credit can be evaluated.

You are strongly recommended to request transfer credit at least four months in advance of your first semester of attendance. Requests for evaluation of credit received after this time may not be processed in time.

- BC secondary school graduation (or the equivalent in another school system)
- One course short of BC secondary school graduation
- 19 years old by the end of the first month of the first semester of attendance
- 17 years old on the first day of the first semester of attendance and has not been in school for at least one year
- Completion of a certificate or equivalent from a special needs program and has been in school for 12 years
