The Visual Arts Diploma allows you to take courses in drawing, art history, photography, ceramics, painting, and more.

One of: 

1. High school graduation (or equivalent) with English 12 or English 12 First Peoples (C) or equivalent
- A university degree
- Be a visiting student from a college or university (a “Letter of Permission” from home institution required)
- Be a transfer student from a college or university with at least 24 university transfer credits
- Mature student status (be at least 21 years old in your first semester) and English 12 or English 12 First Peoples (C) or equivalent

Note: If you don't meet any of the admission categories, you may be admitted as an "Unclassified Student" to register into university-level courses which you meet the prerequisites. You will register after other students, so course availability will be limited.

Academic Admission Requirement

 1. Interview with the Faculty Selection Committee
2. 100 to 300 word written statement that outlines reasons and goals for wishing to enter the program
3. Portfolio showing 10 examples of artwork - please see admission page for details


Additional Academic Admission Requirement

1. Enrollment in this program is limited. Meeting or exceeding the minimum admission requirements does not guarantee admission to this program.
2. Students not enrolled in the Visual Arts program may take one Visual Arts studio course per semester without departmental permission, as long as that the course prerequisite has been met. Taking any of these courses does not guarantee entry into the Visual Arts program. 


Admission Advice

Applications are accepted for September entry until July 31 for domestic students, and until May 31 for international students. Early application is recommended.
