The Bachelor of Science in Chemical Biology combines chemistry and molecular biology in a way that prepares you for the explosion of knowledge of life at the molecular level. You will learn to apply chemical principles and knowledge to biological applications, and study both chemistry and biology before specializing in various aspects of chemistry, biochemistry or molecular biology.

Students must be admitted to Bachelor of Science to pursue this program. 

1. One of:

- HIgh school graduation or equivalent
- Minimum 19 years of age 

2.  English 12 (73%) or equivalent

Academic Admission Requirement

1. In addition to the program admission requirements, there are also prerequisites for each course that are listed within the course description. You may enter the program without having the prerequisites but you must complete the course prerequisite(s) before registering specific courses.

2. If you are intending to complete a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree, you should select your 1000- and 2000-level courses in consultation with an academic advisor to meet the basic requirements and the specific prerequisite requirements for your intended Major. Academic advisors can also recommend advising sessions and workshops that will help you with the course planning process.

3. After completing 30 credits, but before completing 60 credits (basically when you are enrolled in the second year of the Bachelor of Science program), you will be required to meet with the Bachelor of Science (BSc.) Advisor and declare a Major. The BSc Advisor will help you select 3000- and 4000-level courses needed for your Major.

4. If you intended to transfer to TRU from other institutions, please check the BC Transfer Guide to ensure that your courses will transfer. 

Admission Advice

TRU begins accepting applications in October. 

Applications received prior to March will be guaranteed an admission decision and an earlier registration date. This program will continue to accept applications until the start of each semester.
