The Bachelor of Arts in Communications allows you to focus on either public relations or new media studies. Study and practice from multiple perspectives: processes, production, composition, design, broadcasting, policy/law, criticism and critique.

1. One of:

- High school graduation or equivalent
- Minimum 19 years of age 

2.  English 12 (73%) or equivalent

Academic Admission Requirement

1. Aside from admission requirements, there are specific course registration requirements (called prerequisites) which are listed with the TRU course description. A prerequisite is a course that must be successfully completed prior to registering in a given course. For program completion and course registration purposes, make sure that you have the course prerequisites before registering individual courses.

2. Students at TRU have a program advisor. You are encouraged to meet with the Communication Program Advisor for advice on your program progression and in selecting appropriate courses for your major.

3. If you do not meet the admission and/or course prerequisites, you may begin your first-year university study by taking University Preparation courses to get started. Please contact TRU's Future Students Advisor to discuss about your options. 

4. If you intend to transfer to TRU from other institutions, please check the BC Transfer Guide to ensure that your courses will transfer. 

Admission Advice

TRU begins accepting applications in October. 

Applications received prior to March will be guaranteed an admission decision and an earlier registration date. This program will continue to accept applications until the start of each semester.
