The Bachelor's Degree of Kinesiology is to explore how we can optimize the human potential for health, performance, and overall wellness. You'll learn foundational topics such as human anatomy, sport psychology, biomechanics, and human nutrition, as well as physical activity, health, and fitness. You'll develop skills for teaching and counselling athletes, and learn about athletic injuries, research methods, applied ethics, physiology, exercise testing, and exercise prescription. Grads with a Bachelor of Kinesiology may work in a variety of roles as health professionals to help people improve their health and wellbeing.

Option A. For students with high school graduation only

5\. Physical Education 11 and/or 12 is recommended

Option B. For students with some post-secondary education (entering into the second year of the Bachelor of Kinesiology degree)

    - KIN 163 (C+)
    - KIN 170 (C+)
 
2\. One of:
    - Prerequisites for ENGL 105 or CMNS 125
    - ENGL 105 (C-)
    - CMNS 125 (C-)
 
3\. One of:
    - Statistics 12 (C) or equivalent
    - Foundations of Mathematics 12 (C)  or equivalent
    - Pre-Calculus 12 (C) or equivalent
    - Completion of one of STAT 104, or STAT 106, or PSYC 110.
 
4\. Completion of additional 12 credits at the post-secondary level with at least an overall GPA of 2.33.

Academic Admission Requirement

1. The Kinesiology department will consider applicants with relevant experience, even though they may not possess the required GPA, course grades, or course currency necessary for entry into the degree program. Students may be required to complete one or more lower-level courses to satisfy any course deficiencies. The Kinesiology department will exercise its discretion in such cases with respect to conditional acceptance into the program.

2. There are a limited number of seats available in the Bachelor of Kinesiology degree program. Acceptance into the Kinesiology program will be on a first-come first-serve basis, assuming entrance requirements are met. Applicants who meet the entrance requirements will be admitted in order of their application date. This date is set when an application, all required documentation, and the application fee have been submitted.	
 
3. If you are missing any academic requirements for program entry, you have the option of taking Qualifying Studies (upgrading courses) in order to upgrade your qualifications for future admissions.

Fall semester: October; Winter semester: May; Summer semester: October

Applicants must meet the minimum standard for entry.		

Applicants who qualify will be offered seats in order (from highest to lowest) of one of the following:
    - For secondary school entrance, an admission GPA calculated on the three required courses above.
    - For university entrance, a cumulative GPA based on all university credits attempted.	

Applicants who do not meet the minimum standard may be admitted to Qualifying Studies.
