The Associate of Arts Degree provides a foundation in a range of academic disciplines, critical thinking, writing and research skills. In addition to required coursework in English, Science and Arts, you'll be able to select from first- and second-year courses across every faculty at CapU. Your choices can include everything from mathematics and computing science, to business, creative and performing arts, the social sciences or humanities. After completing your associate's degree, you can ladder your credits into a Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of Arts with a Major in Interdisciplinary Studies, the Bachelor of Arts with a Major in Psychology and many more.

1. High school graduation or equivalent
2. Minimum 60% or 2.0 GPA in:
    - English 12 or equivalent and
    - Two academic Grade 12 courses

Academic Admission Requirement

1. English is the language of instruction at CapU. All applicants are required to demonstrate competence in the English language prior to admission. If English is not your primary language, you must meet the English language requirements for admission.

2. Current Grade 12 students can be conditionally accepted based on final Grade 11 grades or interim Grade 12 grades. Students can upload proof of grades (e.g. unofficial transcripts, copies of report cards) through EducationPlannerBC when applying to Capilano University. Final acceptance will be based on high school graduation and having met the program specific requirements.
    - Note: All B.C. applicants must release their grades to CapU via the BC Ministry of Education at Student Transcripts Services (STS). Please do this as soon as possible. 

3. Aside from program entry/admission requirements, there are also specific course registration requirements (called prerequisites) which are listed within Capilano University’s course description. Prerequisite = course that must be successfully completed prior to registering in a given course. For example, English 12 (67%) or equivalent is required prior to registering an English 100 level course.
