In the Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology, you'll study physical activity from a scientific perspective and explore the link between wellness and exercise. This program will allow you to gain experience that will let you work in sport, recreation and rehabilitation.

Option A: Year-One Entry
1. High school graduation or equivalent

2. All of the following Grade 12 courses: 
    - English 12 (67%) or equivalent 
    - Pre-calculus 12 or equivalent 
    - Anatomy & Physiology 12 or Biology 12 or equivalent
    - Chemistry 12 or Physics 12 (Physics 12 recommended) or equivalent

3. All of the following Grade 11 courses or equivalent: 
    - English 11 or equivalent
    - Pre-calculus 11 or equivalent
    - Chemistry 11 or equivalent
    - Physics 11 or equivalent
    - Social studies 11/12 or equivalent
 

Admission Average Estimate: 92%

Option B: Year-Two Entry (Applicants Transferring from Other Faculties or Institutions)

1. If you have attempted less than 8 university-level courses, you need to meet the admission requirements for secondary school graduates (as detailed above), AND at least 5.0 ("B") grade point average on all university-level attempted; or If you have attempted 8 or more university-level courses, you need at least 5.0 ("B") grade point average on the most recently completed 8 courses. 

Note: For students currently registered in less than 12 units (or 8 courses), the GPA will be determined by using a combination of the GPA achieved in the current session and the GPA from the previous session (to reach the 8-course minimum total).

Academic Admission Requirement

1. At UVic, the value of courses is given in units. Most courses at UVic that run for one term count for 1.5 units per course. For example, 3 UVic units are equivalent to two (half-year) courses or 6 credits at most BC colleges and universities.

2. For students who study at another post-secondary institution in BC, you can use BC Transfer Guide to find out course equivalency and transferability.  

3. All applicants to UVic (regardless of country of origin or citizenship status) are required to demonstrate competence in the English language prior to admission. You can choose one of several ways to demonstrate language proficiency. You are not required to provide proof of language proficiency if you have studied full time for at least four years within Canada at the high school and/or post-secondary level, and all of your instruction has been in English.

4. Many of the required university courses in the program have secondary school course prerequisites. Students should take a minimum of: Biology 11, Chemistry 11 (Chemistry 12 is recommended), Principles of Math 12 or Pre-Calculus 12, and Physics 11 (Physics 12 is recommended).

5. Admission is competitive as enrolment to this Program is limited. Meeting the minimum requirements does not guarantee admission to this program.

Applications must be submitted by the following dates for program entry in September					
Year-One entry: January 31			
Year-Two or later entry: January 31;			
All requirements for admission must be completed by April 30 and documented with UVic by May 31.
