The Preparatory Certificate provides students with the foundation in music theory, skills development, and performance needed to successfully enter the VCC Music Diploma program.

1. High school graduation or GED or equivalent
Applicants who have not graduated from high school may still be considered with permission from the Music Department Leader.
2. English 12 (pass) or Communications 12 (pass) or equivalent

Academic Admission Requirement

1. Successful audition in major performance area. See the VCC Music Application and Audition Requirements for details
2. Submission of the supplemental application form

Additional Academic Admission Requirement

1. This program is available to Canadian citizens and permanent residents.
2. Applicants who self-identify as Indigenous are strongly encourages to connect with VCC's Indigenous Education and Community Engagement team to learn more about VCC's Indigenous Enrolment policy and services.
3. If you are missing any prerequisites, VCC offers academic upgrading, English as a Second Language courses, and university transfer options. 

Admission Advice

Applications should be submitted as early as possible. Qualified applicants are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.
